Van Servicing Norwich
A van off the road is a day not earned. Early drop-off, honest quotes, quick turnaround on servicing, brakes, clutches, tyres and diagnostics for the vans Norfolk works from.
Vans work harder than cars and are serviced less often, because every day in the workshop is a day without income. We service and repair the vans Norfolk runs on, Ford Transit and Transit Custom, Mercedes Sprinter and Vito, Vauxhall Vivaro and Movano, Volkswagen Transporter and Crafter, Renault Trafic and Master, Peugeot Boxer and Expert, Citroen Relay and Dispatch, and the Ranger, Hilux and Navara pickups, for sole traders, couriers and small fleets across Norwich. Early drop-off from 8am, a straight quote before any work, and the van back the same day wherever the job allows.
Servicing to the Van's Schedule, Not the Car's
Van engines cover more miles, idle more, carry more weight and are often serviced on a variable schedule that the dashboard counts down. We follow the manufacturer's schedule for the van and the way it is used: a courier van doing 40,000 miles a year of stop-start needs its oil, filters and brakes looked at more often than the book suggests, and a diesel doing short urban runs needs its DPF and EGR behaviour taken into account. Interim, full and major services are all available, with the correct oil specification, which on modern van diesels is not negotiable.
The Repairs Vans Need Most
- Brakes: pads and discs wear fast under load; see our brake repair page.
- Clutches and dual mass flywheels: heavy use and heavy loads; see clutch replacement.
- Suspension: springs, shock absorbers, bushes and wheel bearings on vans that carry weight over estate speed cushions all day.
- Tyres: commercial tyres with the correct load rating, checked against the plate; see van tyres.
- Batteries, alternators and starters: vans with tail lifts, fridges and power tools charging off the battery kill charging systems early.
- Diagnostics: warning lights, limp mode, AdBlue and DPF messages read and explained.
- Exhausts and the odd rattle from a loaded van that has met a pothole.

Class 7 MOT
Vans over 3,000 kg and up to 3,500 kg gross weight take a class 7 MOT, which is capped at £58.60 rather than the car fee. We are not a test station; we carry out the pre-MOT check and repairs in our workshop and arrange the test at an approved centre that handles class 7, so it is still one drop-off. Lighter vans and car-derived vans take a class 4 test. See our MOT and service page for how the day runs.
How quickly can you turn a van round? Servicing and most brake and tyre work the same day with early drop-off. Clutches and bigger repairs are usually next day depending on parts. We tell you when you book.
Small Fleets
If you run two, five or ten vans we can plan the servicing around your work: one van at a time, early drop-off, priority on the repairs that stop a van earning, and one point of contact who knows the vehicles. Tell us what you run and how you would like it to work.
