The Radar Range, and Who It Suits

Dimax R8+ is the performance car tyre and Rivera Pro 2 the everyday pattern; Dimax 4 Season is the snowflake-marked all-season; Renegade AT5 and RT+ are the all-terrain and rugged-terrain 4x4 tyres and Renegade A/T Pro the milder pattern; Argonite covers vans. The Renegade range is the reason most Norfolk drivers ask for the brand.

For a pickup or Land Rover on a budget the Renegade AT5 is a common request, matched across all four wheels.

Most Radar enquiries we take are for the Renegade AT5 on a pickup or Discovery that spends part of its life on farm tracks. It is an all-terrain with a proper snowflake marking at a budget-tier price, which is a rare combination, and the road-noise penalty is similar to the premium all-terrains. The car patterns are asked for far less; the Dimax 4 Season is the one worth knowing about.

What You Get at This Price

Radar sits at the top of the budget tier, and the Renegade all-terrains in particular are chosen on price against Cooper and General. We show you the label and talk through the road-noise trade-off of an all-terrain honestly. Not sure what is on the car now? Read us the sidewall over the phone or give us the registration and we will check.

Popular Radar Sizes

The Radar sizes Norwich drivers ask us for most are the common hatchback and crossover fitments. Each size below has its own page explaining which cars use it and what the codes mean:

Radar and the EU Tyre Label

Budget does not have to mean blind. The EU label on a Radar tells you its wet grip, rolling resistance and noise in the same terms as a Michelin, and we will show it to you for the exact pattern in your size, next to a mid-range alternative, so the saving is an informed one.

How Radar Fitting Works Here

Call with your size

Or the registration. We quote premium to budget with the EU label for each.

Fitted the same day

New valve, computer balanced, torqued by hand, old tyre disposed of.

Checked before you leave

Pressures set, the other three looked at, alignment advised if the old tyre wore unevenly.

Fitting Radar Tyres at Ber Street

Radar car sizes are normally next working day; the Renegade 4x4 sizes can take two or three. Call with the size and we will confirm before you book.

Allow half an hour for a single Radar and about an hour for a set. Every wheel is computer balanced, every nut is torqued to the maker's figure with a calibrated wrench, the valve or TPMS seal is renewed and the old tyre is disposed of properly. Wait in the waiting area or leave the car; parking is free. Open Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm, Sunday 10am to 4pm.

Ask us straight whether Radar is the right choice and you will get a straight answer. Sometimes it is; sometimes a step up or a step down the brand list fits the car and the budget better, and we will show you the label ratings that make the case. All workmanship is guaranteed for 3 months or 3,000 miles.

New tyres are a good moment for a four-wheel alignment if the old ones wore on one edge, and for a look at the other three tyres and the brakes while the wheels are off. If it is a nail rather than wear that brought you in, ask about a puncture repair first; it is often all the tyre needs.
