The Maxxis Range, and Who It Suits

Premitra HP5 and its successor Premitra 6 are the everyday touring tyres, Victra Sport 5 the performance line, Mecotra 3 the economy tyre, Premitra All Season AP3 the snowflake-marked all-season, and Vansmart the commercial range. The 4x4 catalogue is deep, from Bravo highway patterns to the Razr all-terrain and mud-terrain and the Trepador for serious off-road use.

Much of the brand's search interest is for bike and motorcycle tyres, which we do not fit, but for a car, SUV or pickup the Maxxis road and off-road ranges are worth a look at mid-range prices.

The EU tyre label grades wet grip, rolling resistance and noise, and it is the reason a Maxxis is often the sensible buy: the label is close to premium, the price is not. Grades vary size by size, so we read the label for your exact fitment and put it next to the alternatives before you choose.

Maxxis is a next-working-day order in most car and 4x4 sizes; we fit car, van and 4x4 tyres only, not bicycle or motorcycle tyres. Call with the size or registration.

When the Maxxis tyres arrive the job takes about an hour for a full set and half that for one: each wheel balanced on the computer balancer, the valve renewed, the nuts torqued to specification and the old tyres taken away. Park free on site. Open seven days, including Sunday 10am to 4pm.

We are independent of every manufacturer, so the advice is about your car and your budget rather than a brand's quota. Maxxis where it fits; something better suited where it does not, shown on the EU label. Every fitting carries our 3-month / 3,000-mile guarantee.

Worth doing at the same time: if your old tyres wore unevenly, a wheel alignment check will stop the new set going the same way. And if you have picked up a nail rather than worn the tyre out, a puncture repair may be all you need.
