Ecsta is Kumho's performance family, from the everyday Ecsta HS52 to the ultra-high-performance PS71 that turns up on hot hatches. Ecowing is the efficiency-focused touring tyre for family cars and the one most Kumho buyers end up with, and Solus covers the all-season market with the Solus 4S carrying the winter snowflake marking. The reason to choose Kumho over a budget tyre is the wet grip grade: Kumho's mainstream tyres tend to carry a B for wet grip where a budget tyre is often a C or lower, and on a wet A47 in November that is the difference that matters. The reason to choose it over a premium tyre is simply price, and on a low or medium mileage car that is a perfectly good reason.

Kumho covers a broad spread of sizes at a sharp price, and the common hatchback and SUV fitments are usually quick to source. Call with the size or registration and we will tell you what is on the shelf and what is a day away.

Fitting time is 20 to 30 minutes for one Kumho and around an hour for four, including balancing every wheel, resetting the pressure monitoring where fitted and torqueing the nuts by hand. There is free parking on site and a waiting area; we are open every day, 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Ask us straight whether Kumho is the right choice and you will get a straight answer. Sometimes it is; sometimes a step up or a step down the brand list fits the car and the budget better, and we will show you the label ratings that make the case. All workmanship is guaranteed for 3 months or 3,000 miles.

Two things we check while the car is on the ramp: the wear pattern on the tyres coming off, because feathering or inside-edge wear means the alignment needs setting before the new Kumho tyres go the same way, and whether the tyre actually needs replacing at all, because a nail in the tread is often a repair rather than a new tyre.
